Fokine Construction has a deep and varied background as a General Contracting company. Its principal, Christian Fokine, began his career in 1974 when he worked in a family run construction business in Yonkers, NY. He attended S.U.N.Y. at Delhi for Construction Technology and Parsons School of Design for Art and Architecture. Since starting his own construction business in 1979, his work has encompassed everything from furniture manufacturing to Manhattan loft conversions, from historic restorations to new home construction of all styles and sizes.

Fokine Construction has been based on Shelter Island, NY since 1984 where they have built a reputation for fine workmanship and professionalism. Christian Fokine is a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, Long Island Builders Institute, Inc., the NAHB Green Building Program, the Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce and a supporting member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
